When watching Netflix via the HTPC in full screen I seem to be getting quite a bit of screen tearing - especially on pans. Is anyone else aware of this issue and knows of any solutions?

I'm hooked up to a brand new Vizio with built in Netflix which we have watched for a few hours already and it seems fine i.

Honestly I build this PC to watch streaming media, Netflix being one of the major ones. I know dozens if not hundreds of people on this board ask for advice and build HTPCs to use among other things, Netflix - and many of those are recommended to llano- based builds. I'm using the on-board llano graphics A , set at x and the TV is a It appears the highest refresh rate the llano does is 60Hz. The TV is a Hz TV and does have settings to remove the picture smoothing features, but can't actually be toggled to 60Hz mode I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I hope not.

I don't really have another TV to test with. I've tweaked around in CCC with some settings, but nothing seems to help. Any advice? So doing more research it seemed this is a pretty widespread issue for many users on many systems. Some blame Silverlight, some blame the way Netflix may have been encoding the stream to Silverlight-based players namely everything that's not a STB.

You are a valued HP customer and we appreciate you greatly for doing business with HP A commendable diagnosis of the issue was done. Kudos to you for that. Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.

Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. This issue happened when I first got the computer in March. It happened first when watching YouTube videos at full screen then I used a workaround by using software rendering to resolve the issue. Now it is happening when I am watching Netflix. I just installed Chrome and tested watching NetFlix and I do not see the issue appearing on that browser. I tried with the NetFlix App and issue is happening there as well.

So far it seems like only Chrome is able to handle NetFlix without the flickering. Is there any other way to troubleshoot this issue? Then I restarted my computer. There is a lengthy MS update feature update to version I tested NetFlix on all 3 applications IE, Edge, App and it appears that the issue with the flickering at full screen is now fixed. I am not sure if it was due to the steps you have suggested me to do or with the new MS update. This is a really strange issue. I reviewed the post completely.

Thanks for your response. Great Job and Kudos to you for a job brilliantly done. It has been amazing working with you with such profound knowledge of computers and great technical skills.
