Prepositions lessons pdf

By the end of the lesson, students will have a firm sense of how to recognize and use prepositions correctly. There are two content pages in this lesson. Students will first analyze a sentence that is missing a preposition. You will ask them what is wrong with the statement. You can then describe how prepositions help make sense of otherwise confusing sentences. The lesson provides several more examples of sentences that are missing prepositions.

You can allow students some time to figure out the right missing word. Students will discover many common prepositions. The lesson then describes phrases and how to identify a prepositional phrase in text. There are five sentences that students will study to see if they can figure out where the phrases are. Then they can list them on their papers.

The activity, practice, and homework worksheets will provide students with more chances to hone the skill of using prepositions. I was born in September. My birthday is on Monday.
